Halloween / Trick-or-Treat Safety Tips
Halloween and Trick or Treating is right around the corner (Saturday, October 31, 2020 from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m.). We wanted to put out a few safety reminders to ensure you all have a healthy, safe and Spook-Tacular Halloween.
Please remember it is your choice if you participate, residents are NOT required to participate. If you do want to participate please turn on a porch light.
Here are some social distancing candy distribution ideas:
*Wear a Mask (Costume masks are NOT suitable protection – please wear a CDC suggested mask/face covering in addition to your costume)
*Wear gloves
*Set up a decorated (optional) table with ready to grab treats (individual treat bags; grab and go Dixie cups (filled with treats), etc.)
*Use kitchen tongs
*Create a Candy Chute
*Use Hand Sanitizer
DO NOT leave a bowl of candy/treats for trick or treaters to reach in take their own (unless in individual baggies that can be grabbed without touching the other baggies).
DO NOT pass out homemade treats.
DO NOT participate in candy distribution if you have any symptoms of COVID-19.
Trick or Treaters – Costume masks are NOT suitable protection – please wear a CDC suggested mask/face covering in addition to your costume, use hand sanitizer and if you have any symptoms of COVID-19 STAY HOME.
As always, please follow the guidelines set forth by the Trumbull County Combined Health District (www.tcchd.org) & Ohio Department of Health (www.coronavirus.ohio.gov).
