10 Key Zoning Issues

1. Permits are required for the construction of garages, sheds, and fences exceeding 4 feet in height.

2. Garages:

  • Maximum Size – 800 s.f.
  • Maximum Height – 15 feet
  • Maximum Depth – 24 feet

3. Sheds:

  • Maximum Size – 120 s.f.
  • Maximum Height – 15 feet

4. Fences: Maximum Height – 6 feet

5. Detached garages and sheds must be at least 5 feet from the rear and side property lines.

6. Attached garages must be at least 8 feet off the side property line.

7. Maintenance free fences must be at least 6 inches off the property line

8. All other fences must be at least 2 feet off the property line.

9. The maximum depth of a front porch is 6 feet. However, the porch cannot extend into the required yard.

10. Open storage of recreation vehicles and trailers is prohibited in front and side yards.
