Senior Assistance Information

The Trumbull County Senior Services Levy funds programs to enhance the well-being of Trumbull County adults who are age 60 and older.

Services are available in every township to help these residents maintain their health and remain in their homes.

Available Levy Services:  Adult Day Care; Chore Services (Outdoor Lawn Cutting and Snow Removal); Home Delivered Meals; Personal Care/Homemaker; Protective Services; and Transportation.

Seasonal Help Wanted

 

The City of Hubbard is now accepting applications for seasonal / part-time leaf rakers at $12 per hour.  Applications can be obtained by clicking the link below or at the Hubbard Mayor’s Office during normal business hours.  Completed applications can be returned to the mayor’s office or by email to d.madeline@cityofhubbard-oh.gov.  Applicants must be available to start at the end of October.  Any questions please call the mayor’s office at (330) 534-3090.

C.A.R.E. – Town Hall Meeting

The City Transformation Team of Hubbard (Police Chaplains) has established a support group devoted solely to the task of walking alongside friends and families of those struggling with substance or alcohol use disorders.  We call our group C.A.R.E. (Community, Awareness, Response, and Education).

Please accept our invitation to attend a Town Hall Meeting scheduled for Thursday, October 20th at 6:30 pm at the Hubbard Public Library located at 436 W. Liberty Street, Hubbard, OH 44425.  Our theme is “Addiction, a Family Affliction.”

 

Important Notice

Please be advised that the planned power outage scheduled for tomorrow, September 7, 2022 is being conducted by Ohio Edison / First Energy.  This is NOT a Hubbard City Utility outage and city utility customers SHOULD NOT be effected by this.

The streets that will be impacted are S. Fox North Rd., East Liberty St., Price Shaffer Rd., State Line Rd., Yobe Court, Oak Tree Vista, Schotten Rd., Pound Rd., Pothour Wheeler Rd., Hubbard Bedford Rd., County Line Rd., John White Rd., Creed Ave. and Triangle Dr.

Again, this is a planned power outage by Ohio Edison/First Energy for Hubbard Township.

Utility Scam Alert

The Hubbard City Utility Billing Office received a call from a resident stating they received a phone call from a “restricted” number advising them that they were delinquent on their utility bill with the instructions to press 1 to make a payment to avoid disconnection.  Please do not continue the call as it may ask for banking or credit card information.  If you receive a call of this nature, please hang up to avoid being scammed!  Call the utility billing office (330-534-3054) and they will be able to look-up and verify your account status.

Do not fall victim of this scam or give out any of your personal information.

CUSTODIAN HELP WANTED

CUSTODIAN HELP WANTED – Position Has Been Filled (September 2022)

The City of Hubbard is accepting applications for a city custodian.  The position is a full-time union job Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Those interested can apply in person at the Mayor’s Office, 220 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, OH, Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.  Applications can also be downloaded here – city application, printed and mailed or dropped off at the Mayor’s Office.  Applications will be accepted until 3:30 p.m. September 2, 2022.

GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:

Successful candidate must be able to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, picture, or schedule form; deal with problems involving several variables within a familiar context; recognize unusual or threatening conditions and take appropriate action; complete routine forms; communicate effectively; understand a written and/or verbal communications; develop and maintain effective working relationships; perform manual labor in adverse conditions; travel to and gain access to work sites; carry, push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 pounds routinely and up to 75 pounds occasionally; travel to and gain access to work site(s).

EQUIPMENT OPERATED:  (The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive)

Motor vehicle, snow removal equipment, hand tools, power tools, buffers, broom, sweeper, mop, maintenance equipment/tools, shovel, and other standard business office equipment.

PAY GRADE:

This is a class 1 position with a beginning hourly rate of $15.01 per hour, based on the tier system specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Hubbard and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Ohio Council 8, AFL-CIO, Local 1256.

Boil Advisory

Precautionary Water Boil Advisory

Several  water main located in the city have been completed. Due to the main being shut down to affect this repair, the following ADVISORY is necessary.

Nothing has been found wrong with the water, it is a precaution. Boiling your water for 5 minutes at a rolling boil is advised for the immediate area only. It is not necessary City Wide. Tests have been initiated to confirm the water is safe. Once this confirmation has been made, the boil advisory will be lifted.

S. Main St: from Wendemere Dr. to Helen Drive (both sides).

Caroline Ave. both sides

Maple Ridge Dr.

Oakcrest Dr.

Creed Ave.

The homes that are directly affected by this advisory have been personally notified by city personnel and will be notified once the advisory is lifted.

 

 

TCAP SUMMER CRISIS PROGRAM

TCAP SUMMER CRISIS PROGRAM The Trumbull Community Action Program, 1230 Palmyra Rd. SW, will be operating Summer Crisis Program from July 1, 2022 through September 30, 2022.

Appointments can be scheduled starting June 20th. Eligible applicant/households may qualify for one or a combination of the following: an air conditioner and/or fans (if no air conditioner and/or fans was received from TCAP in 2019, 2020, or 2021); a one–time payment for the regulated electric bill not to exceed a total maximum benefit of $500.00 or not to exceed $800.00 for unregulated electric portion of bill. Eligible applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Households with a household member age 60 or older, no medical documentation is required. Households whose electric has been shut off, or is in threat of disconnection, or new service is being established or transfer of service or deposit.
  • Households under the age of 60 with documented medical conditions by a physician.
  • Customers who are enrolling in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus (PIPP) for the first time or have a PIPP default.
  • Disconnect notice not required to receive a benefit.

Trumbull Community Action Program (TCAP) is assisting households under the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program. The assistance includes water and wastewater disconnections, new service, and transfer of service.

All appointments are by phone due to COVID-19. All clients will be called by a caseworker at the date and time of their appointment. Effective November 1st, 2021, you can call (330) 951-0015 to schedule an appointment. Please provide a valid phone number and stay on the line until you receive a confirmation number. The confirmation number will secure your appointment date and time. We also have call-in days on Monday and Wednesday every week. You can call {330) 393- 2507 Ext 225 starting at 8 am. Public notice is hereby given by the Civil Service Commission of Hubbard, Ohio of a competitive examination for the position of Utility Lineman Trainee, Classification 3.

Applications must be made on the regular application form obtainable from the Mayor’s Office at the City of Hubbard Administration Building, 220 W. Liberty St, Hubbard, OH 44425; or the city website at www.cityofhubbard-oh.gov under Government tab and Civil Service Commission tab; Utility Lineman Application Packet; and must be obtained and filed during the period of Monday, June 27, 2022 at 8AM until Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at 3PM.  Applications can be picked up during normal business hours.  Applications may be returned to the Mayor’s Office or by e-mail to d.madeline@cityofhubbard-oh.gov.

APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER 3:00PM ON WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 3, 2022.

Applicants shall be a United States Citizen or persons who have legally declared their intentions of becoming US citizens, or possesses a valid permanent resident ID card (ORC 124.22 & ORC 124.23) and must hold a valid motor vehicle license as issued by the State of Ohio.  All degrees, certifications and credentials must be properly documented and submitted with the applications obtained from the City of Hubbard.

The test will be administered on Monday August 8, 2022 at 6:00PM (doors open at 5:30PM) at the City of Hubbard’s Senior Center, 220 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, OH  44425.
