Reminder of Citywide Overnight Parking Ban
There is a daily parking ban on every street within the City limits between the hours of 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM. Signs are posted upon entering the City at the south and north ends of Main Street, along with the east and west end of Liberty Street.
If you park a vehicle on the street overnight (even in front of your residence), you will receive a parking ticket.
Ordinance 351.14 OVERNIGHT PARKING:
(a) No person shall park a motor vehicle upon the streets of the City during the time period from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
(b) Whoever violates any provision of this section is guilty of a minor misdemeanor on a first offense; on a second offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the fourth degree; on each subsequent offense within one year after the first offense, the person is guilty of a misdemeanor of the third degree.
(c) If an individual receives a third offense for a violation of subsection (a) hereof within one year after a violation of a second offense, the subject automobile shall be towed at the owner’s expense, and the owner shall be responsible for the payment of any and all storage and/or towing expenses imposed by the towing company.
(d) A third offense within one year of a second offense as described in subsection (c) hereof shall pertain to an individual’s ownership of any vehicle and not to a specific vehicle.
