Let’s Turn Hubbard Green!
America’s veterans are some of our nation’s bravest, hardest-working men and women. How can we show them the appreciation they deserve when they get back home and out of uniform? Greenlight A Vet is a campaign to establish visible national support for our veterans by changing one light to green.
Why green? Green is the color of hope, renewal and well-being. “Greenlight” is also a term commonly used to activate forward movement and that’s what veterans are known for – their ability to take action quickly no matter the challenge. They demonstrate great leadership skills in any situation and represent the best of America.
So how can you show your support for our nation’s veterans? Change one light to green in a visible location-on your porch, in your home, or at your office! Keep the light glowing every day as a symbol of appreciation and support for our veterans.
The City Transformation Team received training from The Ohio Department of Health on how to administer Naloxone (Narcan). They each received a kit as part of Project DAWN, which is a community-based drug overdose education and naloxone distribution program. Participants receive training on: recognizing the signs and symptoms of overdose, distinguishing between different types of overdose, performing rescue breathing, calling emergency medical services and administering intranasal Naloxone. For more information on Project DAWN visit: www.healthy.ohio.gov/vipp/drug/ProjectDAWN
