A public hearing will be held during the council meeting on February 6th for the request for a zone change at 6105 W. Liberty Street from C-3 General Commercial to I-2 General Industrial (adjacent property owners will be notified by mail).

QUALIFICATIONS:
High school or GED equivalent, plus experience and/or training in the fields of machinery, heavy equipment, automotive/diesel repair and maintenance; or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience from an accredited institution.
LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a valid State of Ohio driver’s license, and must be able to qualify for and remain insurable in accordance with the City’s vehicle insurance policy. Must possess or obtain a valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement within 18 months of employment.
Skilled in: motor vehicle (automotive and diesel) and equipment repair, use of bench and/or hand tools.

PAY GRADE:
This is a class 9 position with an hourly rate range of $17.67-$23.56 per hour, based on the tier system specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Hubbard and the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees Ohio Council 8, AFL-CIO, Local 1256. The City of Hubbard has an opening on on the Park & Recreation Board. Volunteering provides an opportunity for citizen participation in the process of government and increase their knowledge and skills by working with a variety of people on issues that might not otherwise be a part of their private lives. Serving on a board or committee is one of the most effective ways for citizens to give back to the community and influence city policies and activities.
To be eligible for an appointment, volunteers should have interest or knowledge in the subject matter. Volunteers should also be available to meet at the committee’s regular meeting time (Every Third Tuesday at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers) . Residency in the City of Hubbard is also required.

The Eagle Joint Fire District is looking for a Hubbard City resident to join the EJFD Board of Trustees starting in January 2023. Resident positions on the board are 3 year terms rotating between Hubbard City and Hubbard Twp. residents. The City of Hubbard is accepting applications for a city custodian. The position is a full-time union job Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

The City of Hubbard has an immediate position available for Service Superintendent. Position Has Been Filled (June 2022)
POSITION: Superintendent of Utility Departments responsible for Electric, Water/Sewer, Street and Utility Billing Office.
STATUS: Full Time Exempt, Non-Bargaining Salary Position
SALARY: Up to $65,000 per year based on experience.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Supervises and directly assigns personnel. Develop and prioritizing projects and to monitor each one through satisfactory completion.
Oversees and plan preventative maintenance programs for all departments.
Responsible for citywide emergencies, Water/Sewer, Street and Electric. Serves on 24-hour call for emergencies.
Responsible for safety and job training in all departments. Adheres to state safety rules and regulations.
Works with AMP of Ohio as the city’s primary contact person.
Monitors departments budgets (includes bi-monthly meetings with the service director).
Prepares and maintains all time sheets and payroll records required by the auditor’s office. Supervise and direct assigned personnel, including interviewing applicants, making hiring recommendations.
Evaluates employee performance, counsels, and effectively recommends initial disciplinary action.
Ensures each department properly maintains equipment and tools at all times. Prepares all requisitions for all equipment, material and supplies.
REQUIREMENTS:
High School diploma or GED
Journeyman Line Man, minimum 5 years’ experience.
Minimum 3 -5 years of supervisor experience.
CDL license (emergencies only) and a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
Thorough knowledge of and ability to make practical application of applicable local and state regulations, department policies and procedures for area of responsibility.
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with co-workers, other city department, city council, vendors, contractors and the public.
Ability to use a variety of computer applications in communications, report writing and operations.
Possess and or the ability to obtain the licenses required by the EPA in water department.
Ability to work extended hours and occasionally work weekend and or holidays.
Ability to serve on 24-hour call and respond swiftly, rationally and decisively to emergency situations.
