Input Needed for Little Yankee Run’s Watershed Plan
A public stakeholder meeting will be held on Thursday, June 29th, 2023, to gather input on local
water quality concerns/issues in the Little Yankee Run watershed (see attached map below). The public
meeting will begin from 5:00pm-6:30pm and will be held at the City of Hubbard-City Council
Municipal Building located at 220 West Liberty Street, Hubbard Ohio 44425.
Eastgate is developing a Nonpoint Source Implementation Strategy (NPS-IS) Plan for the
watershed. Stakeholder participation will help Eastgate identify areas of water quality concern
and ensure your ideas/concerns are incorporated into the plan. An NPS-IS plan characterizes the
watershed, summarizes water quality impairments, and identifies water quality improvement
projects eligible for State and Federal funding/grants.
The Little Yankee Run watershed is a tributary to the Shenango River and contains a low head
dam as well as other water quality impairments in need of attention. Eastgate and its planning
partners are stewarding the creation of this plan to improve the health of the Little Yankee Run
and its tributaries to meet the state’s standards for fishable, swimmable, and drinkable waters.
