Utility Bill Assistance

Trumbull Community Action Program (TCAP), 1230 Palmyra Rd; SW has announced their Summer Crisis Program will be beginning July 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021.

Eligible applicants / households may qualify for one or a combination of the following:  an air conditioner / fans (if no air conditioner/fans was received from TCAP in 2018, 2019 or 2020); a one-time payment for the regulated electric bill not to exceed a total maximum benefit of $500.00 or not to exceed $800.00 for unregulated electric portion of bill.

Eligible applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Households with a household member age 60 or older, no medical documentation is required;
  • Households whose electric has been shut off, or is in threat of disconnection, or new service is being established;
  • Households under the age of 60 with documented medical conditions or diagnosis of Coronavirus in the last 12 months;
  • Customers who are enrolling in the Percentage of Income Payment Plan (PIPP) for the first time or have a PIPP default; 
  • Disconnect notice is not required to receive a benefit.

There will be face to face interviews Monday and Fridays as walk-ins.  Face masks are required.  Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday will be appointments by phone only.  A caseworker will call you at the date and time of your appointment.

Applicants will be asked to provide:

  • Proof of income for primary applicant and all household members 18 years of age or older;
  • Social Security cards or birth certificates for all household members; and
  • Copies of most recent utility bills (primary heating and electric).
  • Completed medical form from TCAP or physician medical prescription, if applicable. 

 

Civil Service Exam – Utility Billing Clerk

Public notice is hereby given by the Civil Service Commission of Hubbard, Ohio of a competitive examination for the position of Utilities Billing Clerk, Classification 4.

Applications must be made on the regular application form obtainable from the Mayor’s Office at the City of Hubbard Administration Building, 220 W. Liberty St, Hubbard, OH 44425; or the city website at www.cityofhubbard-oh.gov under the Civil Service Commission tab; and must be obtained and filed during the period of Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 8AM until Friday, June 11, 2021 at 4PM.  Applications can be picked up during normal business hours.  Applications may be returned to the Mayor’s Office or by e-mail to d.madeline@cityofhubbard-oh.gov.

APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED AFTER 4:00PM ON FRIDAY, JUNE 11, 2021.

Applicants shall be a United States Citizen or persons who have legally declared their intentions of becoming US citizens, or possesses a valid permanent resident ID card (ORC 124.22 & ORC 124.23) and must hold a valid motor vehicle license as issued by the State of Ohio.  Completion of secondary education (high school or GED), supplemented by courses in typing, computer operations, general accounting, and office practices and procedures, plus prior experience working in a government or business office, or equivalent.  All degrees, certifications and credentials must be properly documented and submitted with the applications obtained from the City of Hubbard.

The test will be administered on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 6:00PM at the City of Hubbard’s Senior Center, 220 W. Liberty St., Hubbard, OH  44425.

 

Electronics Recycling Event Planned

ELECTRONICS RECYCLING GRANT DROP OFF DATE:

The City of Hubbard has announced that Saturday, June 19, 2021 we will be having an Electronics Recycling Event to be held at the Hubbard City Administration Building parking lot.  The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon.

Citizens are reminded that this program is for residential households only, no commercial enterprises or businesses.

The grant award was to the City and Township and their residents only.  No Pennsylvania residents please.  Volunteers are needed, please contact the Mayor’s Office at 330-534-3090 if you can help.

 

 

Branch / Brush Pick-Up

The City of Hubbard has announced that the city’s annual branch/brush pickup will begin on Monday, June 28, 2021, and run through July 2, 2021.  All residents are asked to have their branches and brush to the curb (not on the street) before June 28th as there will only be one run through the entire city.

Please note that the branches must be no more than three (3) inches in diameter and no longer than four (4) feet in length.  Crews will only spend a maximum of 10 minutes at any residence.

2021 Flushing Program to Begin

The City of Hubbard will begin the 2021 Flushing Program of all waterlines maintained by the City of Hubbard. Some of these waterlines are located in Hubbard Township, so please do not be surprised to see us.

This is an E.P.A. requirement that is aimed at keeping the highest quality of water in our system that Hubbard is supplied with.
The flushing will begin on Monday, May 3, 2021. Hours of flushing will be from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM. Residents may experience some cloudy water during the morning hours, but this will clear shortly.

Grandview Ave. Culvert Replacement

 

The Grandview Ave. culvert replacement project will begin May 3, 2021. Grandview Ave. from Scott St. to Ravine Dr. will be closed for approximately five (5) weeks (weather permitting) for the full culvert replacement and paving.  Please follow all posted detour signs.

Tax Filing Deadline

 

The City of Hubbard income tax filing deadline has been extended to Monday, May 17, 2021 following the federal and state filing extension.

We DO NOT prepare tax returns – please submit your completed City of Hubbard tax forms to the tax office prior to the filing deadline. If you have any questions, please call Jane at 330-534-6299.

Building is open to the public 8am-1pm. Drop box is available 24 hours a day.

 

 

Tornado Siren Test

NOTICE

2021 TORNADO SIREN TEST/TORNADO DRILL WEDNESDAY, MARCH 24, 2021 at 9:50 A.M.

As part of Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week, the State of Ohio will conduct a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 9:50 am. Ohio communities will test their outdoor warning sirens and Emergency Alert System broadcast procedures during the drill.

The National Weather Service and The Ohio Emergency Management Agency encourages everyone to abide by health and safety guidelines, including social distancing and wearing a mask per local directives.  If that is not possible during the tornado test, then consider participating by simply sheltering-in-place or discussing sheltering options/plans among co-workers/family members.  Every school, citizen, and business is encouraged to participate in the drill.  If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to contact Trumbull County EMA Office @ 330-675-2666.
